The Project Holiday elves are busy this week collecting and sorting holiday gifts so Yarmouth families in need will have gifts under the tree this holiday season for their children. Project Holiday, a program of Yarmouth Cares About Neighbors (YCAN), has worked for about ten years in partnership with the Yarmouth School System, Yarmouth Lions Club and Yarmouth Community Services make it a successful program. A cadre of Project Holiday volunteers, and sponsoring families, individuals, groups and businesses have been hard at work to generously bring smiles to Yarmouth’s families on Christmas morning.
The list of generous sponsors for Project Holiday is long. For the respect and privacy of individuals who support Project Holiday, we are unable to name people, but we’d like to send a huge shout out to the groups and businesses throughout Yarmouth who generously sponsor families. We hope you’ll recognize their generosity by doing your own holiday shopping at the businesses and saying an extra thank you to the groups involved.
Hats off to these wonderful sponsors of Project Holiday:
Estabrooks
Yarmouth Fire Department
AMVETS Ladies Auxillary 2
Enterprise Engineering
YHS Advisory Groups
Brookside Condo groups
Bayview Dental
Island Treasure Toys
Garmin
Lions Club
Royal River Books
Yarmouth Cub Scouts Pack 31
Yarmouth Police Department
In addition to gifts, some sponsors offer gift cards and YCAN purchases additional gift cards from Yarmouth businesses and restaurants to round out the giving for the whole family.
This weekend, the Yarmouth Lions Club will join YCAN volunteers in distributing gifts to families. It gives everyone who participates – in both the giving and receiving – such joy to make the holidays a little brighter for those families who might need a little help from others.
Thank you and hats off to our generous sponsors of Project Holiday!
