Once again, YCAN (Yarmouth Cares About Neighbors) rose to the occasion to support the community. This time doubling as Cats in the Hats, the YCAN board embraced the cartoon theme at the 2026 Clam Festival Parade, marching as Cats in the Hat. They were accompanied by an antique yellow truck, owned by Yarmouth resident, Charles Herman. The truck was adorned with banners reading in true Suess verse:
YCAN is an umbrella,
Covering Yarmouth town
Needs met for one and all
Care for everyone around
The Clam Festival allows community residents, groups and organizations to garner visibility through creative floats, vehicles and walkers. The YCAN board hopes that everyone was able to see up close how committed YCAN is to the community through its programs and projects. The Cats in the Hats carried signs for every one of the YCAN programs. Here are a few of the smiling cats participating in the Clam Fest Parade.

Thank you to the YCAN board for helping to spread the word about the good work carried out by this organization.
